We begin our top 10 list with the American former figure skater, Nancy Ann Kerrigan.
Born on October 13, 1969, the figure skater is well known for her conflict with Tonya Harding.
On January 6, 1994, Kerrigan was attacked at the US Figure Skating Championships in Detroit by the husband of rival figure skater, Tonya Harding while coming off the ice after a practice session.
Six weeks after being attacked Nancy earned the silver medal and Tonya Harding was banned from figure skating for life whereas Nancy had a successful career.
Of German, English and Irish ancestry, Nancy Kerrigan is the 1994 Olympic silver medalist, the 1992 Olympic bronze medalist, a 2-time world medalist and the 1993 US National Champion.
Today, she is still considered one of the most famous winter Olympians of all time.
