First built in the Palace Museum in Beijing’s Forbidden City, the museum was moved overseas to Taiwan, more exactly to Taipei where thousand of artifacts and art items were shipped.
Being one of the largest collections of antique Chinese imperial artifacts and artwork which belong to different ages like the Neolithic or the Qing Dynasty.
With almost 700.000 pieces of Chinese history and art this museum is considered one of the largest holders of the Chinese civilization.
Most of the items here were collected by China’s emperors and some of the ancient artifacts where high quality prizes that these antique throne holders kept for themselves.
The National Palace Museum has a twin brother that still holds today, The Palace Museum of Beijing where most of these old items were housed and moved.
