In the technology era where everything is possible and everything can be made on computer, these are the 10 celebs who hate Photoshop.
Nowadays we can barely tell the difference between real and fake and it is no wonder why Photoshop is the center of many controversies.
There are all kinds of people, some people embrace this fake side and others don’t. Celebrities have the same difficulties – some celebrities embrace being retouched and altered, others have stood against it.
Campaigns such as Dove’s Real Beauty and Seventeen magazine’s pledge to eliminate Photoshopped covers have sped up the movement against such image altering programs.

10. Beyonce Knowles
She is one of the most beautiful and among the handful of celebrities that are speaking out against Photoshop usage.
In 2013, she asked H&M publicity, to stop trim down her curves. Beyonce refused to give the OK on using the altered pictures insisting that they used the originals.
Speculations have grown in the last year about her altering her own images with Photoshop before posting them on Instagram.

9. Keira Knightley
The actress was forced to take things one step further when she decided to take a stand against Photoshop.
Back in ’04 her face was controversially distorted on a poster for the movie King Arthur. Although the studio took most of the blame, for her wasn’t enough.
According to Time magazine she posed topless in her shoot with Interview Magazine in 2014 to protest Photoshop, demanding that her photos remain unedited so people can see what she really looks like.
Stating that a woman’s body is a battleground this actress believes in showing the real thing and encouraging others to do the same.
8. Gisele Bündchen
There is no doubt that the supermodel looks great with or without Photoshop. But she still started to speak her mind about the altering of images.
She even encouraged photographer to embrace the imperfections. Gisele, like many of the women on this list, had a problem with people Photoshop-ing her photos.
As a supermodel, she has had more than her fair share of photo retouches and she is hoping that will all change as a result of people becoming more aware of what really makes someone beautiful.
In 2013 she shot an ad campaign for BLK DMN without any beauty products or Photoshop. The results were remarkable and the model started to tell others to do the same thing.
Gisele has also been known to work with photographers that really understand this unconventional approach.
7. Lady Gaga
We all know Lady Gaga and how she is not afraid to speak up her mind. She wasn’t afraid to speak out against Photoshop either.
Gaga even used her own cover photo as an example of how things need to change.
Back in 2013, the singer attended the annual Woman of the Year Awards and accepted an award from Glamour Magazine.
She then went on to speak out about her cover on Glamour telling fans that her skin looked too perfect and hair too soft.
Lady Gaga had this to say on the matter “It is fair to write about the change in your magazines. But what I want to see is the change on your covers … When the covers change, that’s when culture changes.”
6. Jessica Simpson
Jessica Simpson is another celebrity who hates Photoshop. She doesn’t care anymore about what the public thinks about her and is speaking out about retouched images.
After a slew of media scrutiny about her baby weight to wearing mom jeans this singer turned designer is going more natural and less edited.
In a cover shoot for Marie Claire, Simpson chose to style her own air, go without makeup and refuse all touch ups.
Simpson admits she loves to dress up and wear makeup when needed, but also feels just as confident rolling out of bed with sweats on.
5. Lorde
Lorde isn’t your typical teenage girl that demands multiple retouches. On the contrary, she is quite the opposite and has been speaking out about Photoshop usage.
After seeing a photo of her posted with flawless skin, Lorde was quick to react in sending out her own un-edited photo complete with flaws.
To make her fans remember that flaws are okay she went one step further and posted a selfie with her acne cream on.
Not afraid to speak her mind, this superstar is reaching teens all over the world and letting them know that perfect isn’t always real.
4. Kate Winslet
The actress who is famous for her role as Rose in Titanic, had a quite a lot to say about photo editing. We can even say that she has quite the history of speaking out against it.
It started in 2003, when she spoke out against it after GQ altered her image to look significantly slimmer.
Winslet spoke out publicly against GQ stating that she did not give the magazine permission to digitally alter her image.
In 2013 Vogue released a cover with Winslet on, and it so heavily altered she looked like a Disney character rather than a real person.
Vogue reported that a pregnant Winslet argued on set with photographer but we don’t think it was about the pictures concerned.
3. Coco Rocha
Another model who speaks out against Photoshop is Coco Rocha.
In 2011, she partnered up to promote a Photoshop-free campaign with Canadian retailer Jacob and was quoted saying that she hoped the shoot would promote a pull back on the trend of digital manipulation.
Rocha also has a strict policy on posing in any shoots that portray her as looking nude and fought back against Elle Brazil when they Photoshopped out her nude bodysuit on the cover to give the impression she was showing more skin.
She had this to say “As a high fashion model I have long had a policy of no nudity or partial nudity in my photo shoots.
For my recent Elle Brazil cover shoot I wore a body suit under a sheer dress which I now find was photoshopped out to give the impression of me showing much more skin than I was, or am comfortable with.”
2. Colbie Caillat
The singer-songwriter spoke out against Photoshop a bit different than everybody else. She used her musical talent to record a song called Try where she took a stand against Photoshop.
In the music video for the song Caillat starts off with her being perfectly polished and made up.
Throughout the song her and other women remove hair extensions, wigs, eyelashes, lipstick and more; finally revealing them as their true selves at the end of the song.
Caillat made the music video in hopes that it will help take the focus off unrealistic beauty standards.
She believes that women need to be true to themselves and that seeing perfectly beautiful women all the time on covers of magazines and albums sets the stage for unrealistic expectations.
1. Vanessa Hudgens
Another young star decided that using Photoshop is wrong and spoke against it whenever she had the chance.
When asked by Bongo to pose in an all-natural campaign this actress hopped on board before they could even say go.
No digital alterations or filters were used in the campaign; a move that Hudgens hopes will inspire others.
Believing that it is important to find beauty within, Bongo and Hudgens form a powerful team that sends a positive message about being confident and carefree.
Hopefully she will continue doing so, and make others around her feel just as good as she is feeling when going all natural.
