We start the list off with arguably the most popular dog breed in the world. It is the Labrador Retriever. Also known as Lab, their puppy goes for sale somewhere around $1,000 to $2,000 today.

Lab dogs are originally from Canada. They descend from Newfoundland dog and St. John’s Water dog. These friendly and loving dogs belong to sporting and gun dog breed.

The main reasons why Lab dogs are popular but still expensive is their great temperament. They have mellow personality. They get along well with children and other pets. Plus, they are also intelligent so they can be trained well.

I could only think of one down part in owning a Lab. They are super friendly with strangers and they are not territorial. Thus, they cannot be great watchdogs.
