Natural Treatments For Acne Scars

Acne scars are unattractive and can make people feel self conscious – so here are some remedies to help fix them.

 Aloe Vera

All the vitamins that you need to heal skin and help scars fade can be found in fresh aloe vera gel.  You will also not have to worry about this irritating your skin as aloe is gentle.  An added benefit of using aloe is that it also works as a natural moisturizer which will leave your skin feeling healthier and softer.

It is possible to find aloe vera gel in any pharmacy, drug store or online retailer, but fresh organic aloe is the best.  You can easily find a potted aloe plant and they require very little maintenance to grow.  If you are going to use fresh aloe gel to treat your acne scars, you will need to break off a small piece of one leaf, peel the outer flesh away and gently massage the gel found inside into your skin.  For the best results, you need to leave the gel on the skin for around 30 minutes before you wash it off.

 Coconut Oil

When it comes to natural moisturizers, you can’t get any better than coconut oil.  This oil also has a number of healing properties that you need.  To use this oil, you should scoop a quarter of a teaspoon of organic virgin coconut oil and place it in the palm of your hand so that it can melt and reach body temperature.  Using your fingertips, you should then massage the oil into the scarred skin and allow it to soak in.

There is no need to wash the coconut oil away as the essential fatty acids and vitamins will continue t improve your skin health as you wear it.  However, there are some people who find the oil too heavy on their skin.  If you are one of these people, you should remove the oil with a natural cleanser after 30 minutes.

Cucumber is a very popular ingredient in facial treatments and there is a reason for this.  Not only is this vegetable very hydrating, it also contains vitamins A and C as well as magnesium which are all good for your skin.  To use cucumber to treat your acne scars, you will need to pick up an organic cucumber from your local store and cut a few slices.  The slices need to be thin for this to work.

You should then place the cucumber slices over the scarred skin.  After 30 minutes, you need to discard the slices and rinse your face with cold water.  This should be repeated daily until you see the desired results.

Honey is another natural moisturizer that will help you with your scars.  Ideally, you should use raw honey and not the processed honey which is found on the shelves of the local chain grocery store.  To get the best quality raw honey, you should head to a farmer’s market, but there are also a number of good options online.

Once you have the raw honey, you need to massage a small amount over your scars.  You can also create a mixture with a teaspoon of ground cinnamon to 2 tablespoons of honey to help cleanse your pores.  This treatment can be used for as long as you like or until you see results.

There are many treatments for harder acne cases – these can help ensure you remove the marks created by acne and improve the quality and the look of your skin. This Singapore acne scar treatment shows how it works.

Lemon juice is known to help fade scars, revitalize the skin and promote healing because it is a natural alpha-hydroxy acid.  To use this treatment, you will simply need to squeeze the juice of an organic lemon into a small bowl.  If you have sensitive skin it is recommended that you dilute the juice with water.

You should then dab the juice onto your scars with a cotton ball and allow it to dry.  Using cool water you should then rinse your face and apply a natural moisturizer.  You can repeat this treatment every 2 to 3 days until you see results.  It is important to remember that lemon juice can make the skin sensitive to UV rays so avoid direct sunlight after this treatment.
