The Peles Castle was built at the desire of King Carol I of Romania by architects Johannes Schultz, Carol Benesch and Karel Liman.
Its architecture is similar with the one of the Neuschwanstein Castle from Germany and although Peles is a palace, it is consistently called a castle.
The Peles Castle was inaugurated in 1883. The total expenses for the construction of this amazing castle were of $120 million in 1883.
Currently the Peles Castle is owned by King Michael I of Romania.
