6. BMW E39 M5
The M5 as we all know it, is a high performance version of the 5 Series car built by BMW.
But not everybody knows that back in 1986 when the production started, the first M5 was hand built using the 535i chassis and a modified BMW M1 engine.
All this made the M5 the fastest production sedan in the world at the time of its introduction.
But now we’re talking about the E39 M5, which had a significant increase in power and was produced in much greater numbers than the previous generations.
The high performance car was introduced at the Geneva Show in the year 1998, but the production of it did not start until late October that year, with a total of 20,482 models built from 1999 to 2003.
