And here we are at the end of our 10 Best Cars of The 1960s list, closing it with the famous Ford Mustang.
Based on the platform of the second generation North American Ford Falcon, the Mustang started its production in the year 1964.
Mustang was brought out five months before the normal start of the 1965 production year, and its name was proposed by the executive stylist John Najjar, who was a fan of the World War II P-51 Mustang fighter plane.
The car made its first appearance on a racetrack little more than a month after its April 17 introduction, as pace car for the 1964 Indianapolis 500.
And in the same year, this model was winning first and second in class in the Tour de France international rally.
