6. Porsche 911
Sixth on the list is the classic 911 manufactured by the German automaker Porsche.
And it dates back to sketches drawn by Ferdinand “Butzi” Porsche in 1959.
It was developed as a much more powerful, larger, more comfortable replacement for the company’s first model, the 356.
The earliest edition of the 911 had a 128 hp Type 901/01 flat-6 engine, in the “boxer” configuration like the 356.
Throughout its lifetime, the Porsche 911 has been modified by private teams and by the factory itself for racing, rallying and other forms of automotive competition.
