Nike was founded on January 25, 1964, as the “Blue Ribbon Sports”, by Bill Bowerman and Phil Knight, but officially became Nike, Inc. on May 30, 1971.
And is a multinational corporation that is engaged in the design, development, manufacturing and worldwide marketing and selling of footwear, apparel, equipment, accessories and services.
The American company is a major manufacturer of sports equipment, and one of the world’s largest suppliers of athletic shoes and apparel.
As of 2012, Nike employed more than 44,000 people worldwide, and in 2014 the brand alone was valued at $19 billion, making it the most valuable brand among sports businesses.
