Fourth on our list and next in line is the American multinational corporation Microsoft.
With its headquarters in in Redmond, Washington, the company manufactures, licenses, supports and sells computer software, consumer electronics and personal computers and services.
Founded by Bill Gates and Paul Allen on April 4, 1975, Microsoft is best known for its software products: the Microsoft Windows line of operating systems, Microsoft Office office suite, and Internet Explorer web browser.
Since the 90s, Microsoft has increasingly diversified from the operating system market and has made a number of corporate acquisitions, including Skype Technologies, and Nokia’s mobile phone business.
