7. 1957 Ferrari 250 GT California
Built by Ferrari from 1953 to 1964, the 250 model was the company’s most successful early line.
The car was designed for export to North America, and was Scaglietti’s interpretation of an open-top 250 GT.
Built in two distinct series, the long wheelbase version and short wheelbase version, the 250 California was a convertible model, with a full folding hood.
The 250 California was powered by a 3 litre V12 engine, that developed 260 hp and could hit a top speed of 145 mph, while the 0 to 60 mph sprint took only 6,5 seconds.
The car promised track-like performance, but did not compromise on comfort when hitting the streets.
