8. Jaguar X-Type
Jaguar manufactured the X-Type model from 2001 to 2009 in a single generation under the internal designation X400.
Because the X-Type was developed in a period when Jaguar was a division of Ford’s Premium Auto Group, the model from Jaguar was based on a modified version of the Ford CD132 platform.
Manufactured at the Halewood Assembly Facility near Liverpool, the X-Type was the first estate manufactured in series production by the company.
The X-Type even got a facelift, which was unveiled at the 2007 Canary Wharf Motorexpo, and it seems that for this model they opted for a 2.2-litre diesel with particulate filter and a new six-speed automatic transmission.
But The X-Type got more than that, the model now featured revised front and rear facias, new door mirrors with integrated turn indicator repeaters.
