5. Jaguar XK120
Produced by Jaguar between the years 1948–1954, the Jaguar XK120 is a sports car which was manufactured in 12,055 units.
This car was actually launched as a testbed for the new Jaguar XK engine (1948 London Motor Show), as an open two-seater form, or roadster.
The “120” in the name referred to the aluminium car’s that had a top speed of 120 mph (193 km/h), which made the new Jaguar model, the world’s fastest production car at that time.
The XK120s were active in racing and rallying, and won their first race in 1949 in the Daily Express-sponsored One-Hour Production Car Race helt at the Silverstone Circuit.
