8. Lexus HS
Produced since July 2009 by Lexus, the HS model is a dedicated hybrid vehicle introduced as a new entry-level luxury compact sedan.
The car was unveiled at the North American International Auto Show, and represented the first dedicated hybrid vehicle in the Lexus lineup.
Powered by a 2.4L 2AZ-FXE inline-four engine, and assisted by an electric motor, the Lexus HS has a combined output of 187 hp.
According to division officials, this model was produced in response to consumer interest, and many of them stated that they would purchase such a vehicle if a luxury make offered one.
