1. 1936 MERCEDES-BENZ 540K
And here we are at the last one on the list, the amazing 1936 Mecedes-Benz 540K!
The 540K is a type W24 car which was fabricated by the German firm from 1935 to 1940.
Designed by Friedrich Geiger, the 1936 540K was one of the supercars of its day, and was introduced at the 1936 Paris Motor Show.
This amazing car was a development to the 500K, from which they took the straight-8 cylinder engine and increased it to 5,401 cubic centimetres, which aspirated by twin pressurized updraft carburetors, developed a natural 115 hp.
Now you might think that that’s not enough, and you’re right, it’s not!
And that’s why they also attached a Roots supercharger which increased the power to 180 hp pushing the car to a top speed of 170 kilometres per hour.
