The first Cabriolet was a concept car show at auto shows around the world, but it was so popular that it went into production the second it was ready.
The new model was a cabriolet version of the 911 and featured four-wheel drive. The name of this model? The Porsche 911SC Cabriolet.
The 911SC Cabriolet was based on the Targa’s bodywork and was said to need very little extra reinforcements.
The first 911 Cabriolet debuted in late 1982, as a 1983 model, and was Porsche’s first cabriolet since the 356 of the mid-1960s.
