E.L. James’s trilogy Fifty Shades of Grey has been received with a lot of mixed feelings, and was dubbed as Mommy Porn.
The trilogy started out as a fan fiction of the Twilight series, but became a worldwide sensation that turned James into one of The World’s 100 Most Influential People. The author posted her writing on fan fiction sites and her own website, developing it into an erotic trilogy.
She self published the first book as an e-book and print-on-demand paperback through The Writers’ Coffee Shop, a virtual publisher based in Australia.
The trilogy has sold over 35 million copies in the United States, and over 70 million copies worldwide, becoming the fastest selling paperback of all times.
This series is addicting. When I need a good read this is my “go to” series.
