9A Slice of Duke and Duchess of Windsor’s Wedding Cake – $29.900
A piece of cake worth $29.900? Then it must be a royal piece of cake.
The Duke and Duchess of Windsor united their destiny on June 3, 1937, in the Chateau de Cande, France.
And 61 years later, a piece of their wedding cake was sold during a Sotheby’s auction.
The slice, worth $29.900, was bought by Benjamin Yim, a Hong Kong native.
Benjamin Yim declared that that piece of cake represents ‘a truly romantic period, the 1930?s, which were all about style and elegance’.
And good deeds don’t stop here. The proceeds were donated to charities supported by Princess Diana and Dodi Fayed.
