A movie based on Jane Wilde’s book was produced and released in 2014. It was an Academy Award-nominated movie, The Theory of Everything.
The movie, just like the book, is about Jane’s struggle along with Stephen Hawking as they battled through his disease. Even if you don’t know Hawking, even if you don’t understand science, this movie will carry you away through a tearjerker storyline.
The actor who portrayed Stephen Hawking is Eddie Redmayne. He won the Academy Award for this role. His performance was incredible.
He dedicated his Oscars to all of the people who suffer from ALS. During his acceptance speech, he said “This Oscar—wow!—this Oscar, this belongs to all of those people around the world battling ALS. It belongs to one exceptional family: Stephen, Jane, Jonathan and the Hawking children.”
