6. Not making eye contact
Eye contact is crucial and not only on the first date. Keeping your eyes on your company is a matter of social courtesy and an essential for building attraction.
Also, maintaining eye contact makes your partner figure out that you are very much interested in her and what she has to say. If you stay focused on your partner, she will surely want to go on a second date with you! (if everything goes well on the first)
However, a recent study showed that when we lock eye contact for too long the other person might see that as forced dominance, and we surely don’t want that.
The Wall Street Journal suggests about 7-10 seconds of eye contact at a time is enough.
