L’Hotel
For those passionate about literature and writers I have the best place in mind.
Previously known as the Hôtel d’Alsace, L’Hotel is a 5-star luxurious hotel, located in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, the home of many famous cafés like Les Deux Magot or Café de Flore and place of birth of the existentialist movement.
L’Hotel is the last home of the writer, Oscar Wilde, who spent his last days here in the room 16. In this magnificent place the writer Jorge Luis Borges translated into spanish Oscar Wilde’s book “The Happy Prince” and fell in love with his work.
The Curious Group of Hotels, a British company of hotels and restaurants, purchased it and commissioned the renowned designer Jacques Garcia and take care of the details.
It’s absolutely gorgeous and extremely romantic, with lovers kissing all over the place. Please, get a room! ! And better be quick because there are only 20 of them and you need to book ahead.
