Yachting is one of the rich people’s hobbies. Most people think that rich people own yachts just to show off. This is where they got it wrong (at least partly).
Of course, owning a yacht, just like owning a sport car, is like a statement of your wealth and style. But there is something more to it. As you know, one of the human nature is to have limitless sense of satisfaction. Sailing on a yacht means going for a limitless adventure to feed that part of the human nature.
Hanging out on a yacht is just like hanging out with your friends in your apartment. But with extra luxurious features and the possibilities out there in the water.
How much money are they willing to spend for that portable comfort and adventure? Bono owns a 147 feet yacht called The Cyan. It cost him $50 million for purchase and refitting. Roman Abramovich, the owner of Chelsea Football Club paid even more than that. His Eclipse 536 feet yacht cost him $1.5 billion.
