8Practice Yoga
Yoga science is a burgeoning discipline, with researchers probing yoga’s effects on everything from stress hormones to skin conditions.
How does that happen? During yoga, you are encouraged to relax, slow your breathing, and focus on the present moment. This shifts you from the sympathetic nervous system (fight or flight response) to the parasympathetic system (relaxation response). The result? A slower heart rate, decreased blood pressure, and lowered cortisol.
Enough science. Yoga is a wonderful mind, body and soul experience that you can’t understand until you practice it. Even a 5 minutes session will put a smile on your face.
“True yoga was always aimed at recognizing us as that which is eternal, infinite, and unchangeable.”~ Gregor Maehle
