7. The James Ossuary (Price: $50,000)
Back in the 1st century AD, people put dead bodies in a cave. And they left them there for a year. Then, they retrieved the bones and put them in a limestone box.
That is what the James Ossuary is. It is believed to contain the bones of James. Since what the inscription says, “James, son of Joseph, brother of Jesus.”
This is definitely one of the most religious artifacts in the world ever. So why is it only worth $50,000?
The answer is forgery allegation. In fact, this box has been known for the most controversial forgery case. The Israel Antiquities Authority alleged the collector, Oded Golan, with forgery. However, the allegation has never been proven right.
