10. Guinea-Bissau
Guinea-Bissau is one of the poorest countries in the world. The country also suffers from deteriorating CPI score. The score was 25 in 2012. But now it is down to 17.
Guinea-Bissau’s weak governance is one of the many reasons why the country is suffering. Other reasons are the strained economy which leads to a widespread poverty.
Corruption appears at a large scale in all levels of Guinea-Bissau’s government and military. This, and the scant resources in addition, make it hard for the country to even develop.
In terms of enforcing the law to prevent corruption, they can only wish. The judges and magistrates in Guinea-Bissau are poorly trained. They are also irregularly paid. It makes them vulnerable to corruption and political pressure.
