5. Angola
The world’s 5th most corrupt country, Angola, has been facing corruption problems for a long time. Today, it is ranked the 163th among 168 countries with 15 score.
Back in 1970, the ruling party of Angola was a pro-communist. They had the nature of willing to sacrifice everything and everybody. The Soviet press claimed a $1 billion corruption conducted by them.
Angola has faced many inabilities to account their spending found by international organization such as IMF and Human Rights Watch. That was even after the World Bank threatened to cut off their aid in 1999.
In 2009, Angola faced its largest financial fraud. $160 million were transferred to overseas accounts. Several individuals at the Angolan Finance Ministry were sentenced.
