Moving on to the 153th rank is Uzbekistan with CPI score: 19. Considering its score in 2012 (which was 17), the country is showing a slight improvement.
Uzbekistan settled good rules to prevent corruption. However, the enforcement is weak. There are not many corrupt officials prosecuted. Even the judicial system faces functional deficits due to corruption and also limited resources.
Actually, this country has the second largest economy in central Asia. In fact, it has the largest natural gas reserves. But it has not been anywhere near becoming a rich country. This proves the devastating effect of corruption.
