Gerard Butler was struggling with alcohol addiction in his early 20s. But he recovered from that. He didn’t make it to the 300 prequel because he was suffering from pain killer addiction.
Ironically, his pain management problem started as he was filming 300 in 2006. And then he had a near-death experience in a surfing accident in as he was filming Men and Mavericks in California.
He checked into Betty Ford Center in 2012. The rehab center is popularly known for its celebrity clients.
