‘King of Bling’ moors his $300 million Motor Yacht A on the London Thames, dwarfing large structures around it, including the Tower Bridge
No one could mistake the stately Motor Yacht A, as it was sailing up the Thames in the center of London in September 7, 2016.
The 390-ft bombproof Motor Yacht A, belonging to the Russian billionaire Andrey Melnichenko moored next to the historic warship HMS Belfast by Tower Bridge, leaving most of the observers open-mouthed in astonishment.
The glorious show was complete when the billionaire’s model wife posed for impressive photo shots on the magnificent floating mansion.
Apparently, Mr Melnuchenko, known as the ‘King of Bling’, put Motor Yacht A on the market in April after he upgraded to the grander ‘Sailing Yacht A’.
Unique and Futuristic Exterior Aesthetics
Motor Yacht A boasts so many exceptional features, from her cutting-edge design to her exquisite exterior aesthetics. It also has three swimming pools that create currents to swim against.
Motor Yacht A is a brilliant design work of well-known Philippe Starck. The conceptual designer considers Motor Yacht A, a stealth superyacht. It not only has a smooth hull design, but also reflects the mathematical mind of her owner. It’s worth mentioning that Melnichenco is a putative math whiz.
With a pair of 6,035hp diesel engines, Motor Yacht A can travel at a maximum speed of 23 knots , and a cruise speed of 19 knots. Furthermore, the superyacht comes with two stylish tenders which take the guests ashore.
The 11m Limousine Tender is an impressive transport vehicle built to ferry guests to shore. Besides, the state-of-the-art tender boasts hydraulic hatches and an advanced navigation system.
Alternatively, travelers could use the 11m Open tender in order to cruise around the superyacht.
Unconventional and Intelligent Interior Design
Turning to the Yacht’s Interior, Motor Yacht A boasts an interior design which is even more mind-blowing than its captivating exterior. The interior covers 24,000 square feet of living space. Unsurprisingly, it is an elegant and skillfully designed area, with efficient use of the space.
Motor Yacht A features an enormous master suite with 44-millimeter bomb-proof glass around. Additionally, there is a rotating king-sized bed sitting on a giant platter, which also rotates itself. As a result, the combination of the rotating platter and the rotating bed, provides innumerable angles for watching the sunset, sunrise and the retractable plasma TV.
In the main salon, there are two exquisite horn chairs made from alligator skin and Kudo horns.
The luxurious wood paneling in the interior of Motor Yacht A, provides a feeling of opulence throughout the vessel.
Apart from the stunning master suite, there are additional guest rooms, which can accommodate 14 guests together with a crew of almost 40.
Even though Motor Yacht A seems to be highly futuristic and dramatically unusual, It is basically designed in harmony with the nature and sea. The design focuses mainly on the intelligence and dignity rather than show power and wealth. Motor Yacht A could be considered an ‘iconic monolith’ making every boat prior to its construction, look obsolete.
