The large boat ran into a reef and sank off the coast of Mykonos, Greece, a sad scene that would bring tears into the eyes of any billionaire.
Mykonos is part of the Greek island chain of Cyclades, which is ideal to discover by yacht.
There has been several footage and images showing a super yacht sinking off the coast of Greek.
According to the local reports four foreigners were on board the boat, when it ran sank. Luckily none of the passengers were injured, and were rescued from the sinking boat and taken to shore.
Photos released by Boat International show most of the superyacht flooded, with just its front part sticking out of the water.
Mykonos Daily said port officials set up a boom around the motor yacht, to absorb any fuel or oil that seeps into the sea.
Why did the super yacht sank?
And then the guys from Yacht Harbour said that the super yacht appears to be a 106ft Custom Line Navetta 33. They also quoted anonymous sources who claimed the yacht sank after suffering electrical problems which prevented safety equipment from functioning.
Also, according the them a brand new model is currently on the market for $11.2 million and one that is approximately five years old would have a market value of almost $6.2 million.
Where did it sank?
The mega boat hit a reef between the tourist resorts of Platis Gialos and Psarrou. The place where the yacht sank is a famous area where billionaires and celebrities are spending their free time.
Another source, Yacht Charter Fleet, believes that the Aloha was delivered to its unnamed owner in 2009 after it was designed and manufactured in Italy. It features five passengers cabins with enough room for ten guests.
Port officials have launched an investigation into the incident and we are waiting on the reports.
The Mykonos Port Authority has refused to comment on its findings in the investigation of the sinking of the yacht in Myknonos at this time.
The yacht had a luxurious interior with all the features of a jet-setting millionaire before it crashed. Just like this yacht!
Who is the owner?
No one knows so far who the owner or current residents of the super-yacht are, but it did had an American flag flying before it sank.
This is the second yacht to sink in Greece this summer. In July, multiple explosions caused a yacht to catch fire and sink off Greece.
The entire event was captured on numerous smartphone cameras and hit the social media like wildfire.
