12. Similar to LMP1 Le Mans Car, but Better
When Daniel Ricciardo lifted up the cover on top of the AM-RB 001 car, motorsport fans would notice immediately its resemblance with an existing race car. It is the LMP1 Le Mans prototype.
Both AM-RB 001 and LMP1 have low-slung silhouette, short nose, muscular wheel arches, and the most distinctive part: the canopy roof. Unlike any other race car, this canopy roof extends above the car’s engine.
Newey affirmed this. Of course, this does not mean he just copied the LMP1. It is simply the best design for road car racing with nowadays’ technology.
Newey also said that despite the similarity, this car is an Aston Martin like no other. In fact, in terms of its performance, this car will be even better than the Le Mans prototype.
