Life of Pi – 2012
Our number two is another novel based movie who tells the story of an Indian man who lives in Canada and who starts to tell his life story.
The main storyline evolves around the man miraculous survival from a shipwreck at the age of 16, while he was stranded aboard a lifeboat with a Bengal tiger.
So for the fans of wild animal this is the perfect movie to watch because, the tiger becomes the supporting character for young Piscine Molitor “Pi” Patel.
Named Richard Parker, the tiger struggles to survive the shipwreck like the young Pi.
A multi-million dollars success in the box office the movie grossed almost 610 million dollars worldwide and was awarded for the Golden Globes and also for the Academy Awards.
Being a huge success overseas more than in America, the film was criticized as a perfect adaptation of a book which was unfilmable.
With an 8.0 score on IMDB the movie took the public by surprise and the combination between special effects, a not so famous leading actor and an amazing story, made them consider that this was the best animal movie ever seen.
Even though the Bengal tiger isn’t featured in the entire movie, Life of Pi made it clear that the tiger could easily be the staring role.
