Hotel Kämp is our top pick for a luxury stay in Helsinki in 2026, followed by Hotel St. George, Klaus K, Hotel Haven and Solo Sokos Hotel Torni. This list covers five luxury hotels in central Helsinki. The 2017 list of ten included several hotels that have since rebranded, closed or changed hands, so we kept only those we could verify as operating in October 2026.

Which are the best luxury hotels in Helsinki?
We ranked by heritage, size of the luxury offer (spa, restaurants, suites) and location. Prices change by season, so check current rates before you book.
1. Hotel Kämp
Hotel Kämp first opened in 1887, closed in 1967 and reopened in 1999, and it is a member of Leading Hotels of the World. Strawberry (formerly Nordic Choice Hotels) bought it in 2019, and a phased renovation that began in 2023 is due to finish in 2026.
Why it leads: the longest history of any hotel on the list and the strongest luxury credentials.
2. Hotel St. George
Hotel St. George sits at Yrjönkatu 13 next to the Old Church Park. It has 148 individually decorated rooms and five suites, and an Ai Weiwei dragon artwork in the entrance.
The St. George Care spa has a pool, five treatment rooms and two saunas, and the Wintergarden restaurant and bar is the hotel’s social space. A bakery on site serves breakfast and pastries.
Why it ranks here: the most complete spa and food offer among the five.
3. Klaus K
Klaus K is a boutique hotel on Bulevardi with 171 rooms and suites. It belongs to the Strawberry hotel family and is part of the Kämp Collection.
Guests can eat at Toscanini, the Italian restaurant, and use the Sky Terrace in summer for drinks above the rooftops of Bulevardi.
Our reasoning: the best mix of design character and size, with a strong restaurant.
4. Hotel Haven
Hotel Haven is a waterfront boutique hotel at Unioninkatu 17, close to Eteläranta and the Market Square, with 137 rooms. Its own website lists Finland’s leading boutique hotel 2025 as a recent award.
The restaurant occupies a stone building from the 1820s that was built by Captain G.W. Sundman. The hotel is also a Preferred Hotels member.
What decided it: the best location for walking to the harbour and the Senate Square, with an award in 2025.
5. Solo Sokos Hotel Torni
Torni opened in 1931 and was designed by the architects Bertel and Valter Jung in 1928. It has 152 rooms and 14 suites, and the interior was completely renovated in 2005.
The building holds four restaurants and bars, including a rooftop bar, and it is a well-known fixture of the Helsinki skyline.
The trade-off: strong heritage and size, but a mainstream chain brand rather than a luxury collection.
