1. The Connaught

The Connaught first opened in 1815 and has since been redesigned to blend traditional club-style luxury with muted colors and clean lines. Rooms reference the neoclassical architect Robert Adam, and designs are by David Collins, Guy Oliver and India Mahdavi. The art collection of about 3,000 pieces includes works by Barbara Hepworth and Damien Hirst.

Its restaurant, Hélène Darroze at The Connaught, holds three Michelin stars. It is the only UK Three Key hotel with a restaurant at that level.

Top Michelin rating for the hotel and for its restaurant.

2. Claridge’s

Claridge’s opened in 1856 and became fashionable in the 1920s, later hosting royals during the Second World War. The art deco design, gilded columns and sweeping staircase are the draw, and bedrooms are by Diane von Furstenberg.

Afternoon tea and a bar serving prohibition-era whiskey are highlights.

The most social hotel in the city, with the top rating.

3. The Savoy

The Savoy opened in 1889 as London’s first purpose-built deluxe hotel, founded by Richard D’Oyly Carte. It introduced electric light, central heating and en suite bathrooms, and a three-year restoration led by Pierre-Yves Rochon was completed around 2007.

The Savoy has three Gordon Ramsay restaurants: Savoy Grill, The River Restaurant and the one-star 1890. Its American Bar is tied to the cocktail history of Harry Craddock.

Heritage to match its top rating.

4. Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park

This is London’s original Mandarin Oriental, at 66 Knightsbridge. It has large bathrooms, a dedicated manager on every floor and a pool.

Its two-star restaurant, Dinner by Heston Blumenthal, is a highlight.

Top rating, plus a two-star restaurant.

5. Raffles London at The OWO

The building opened in 1906 as the Old War Office, a Grade II listed baroque building that housed the British Army’s administration. Churchill worked there during the Second World War.

The hotel has 120 rooms, three bars, nine restaurants and a 600-seat ballroom. Kioku by Endo, a sushi restaurant on the top floor, has 360-degree views. Mauro Colagreco’s restaurant has one star.

A historic building with the top rating.

6. The Peninsula London

The Peninsula opened in 2023 with 190 rooms and interiors by Peter Marino. Rooms overlook Hyde Park Corner and Wellington Arch, and touchscreens and a 24-hour e-concierge are standard.

Its spa and motor-racing-themed bar are highlights, and Brooklands by Claude Bosi holds two stars.

The newest hotel in the top group.

7. The Dorchester

The Dorchester is a Dorchester Collection hotel with two Keys. Its restaurant, Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester, holds three Michelin stars.

It sits one Key below the top group, but keeps its place on restaurant strength.

A three-star restaurant lifts it above its Key count.

The Ritz holds two Keys, and the Ritz Restaurant holds two Michelin stars.

A two-star restaurant and a famous address.

9. Four Seasons Hotel London at Park Lane

The hotel moved down from three Keys to two in the 2026 list. Pavyllon London, its restaurant, holds one star.
