Probably the oldest restaurant in our top list, Aubergine Restaurant opened its doors in September 1996.
Located at 39 Barnet St, Gardens, the venue received numerous local and international awards and has been consistently rated among the top restaurants in Cape Town.
It is housed in an old building said to date back to 1830, and its tall ceilings and thick walls are the proof to this heritage.
Its decor will impress you the moment you step in. Comfortable, yet refined, the interior is embellished with contemporary fine art.
The restaurant’s menu is a tribute to the South African ingredients like ostrich, springbok and kabeljou.
