Dakshin will tantalize your taste buds with some of the best and most unusual flavors from South India.
It was started by Chef Owner JP in downtown Kirkland and serves traditional south Indian dishes in a classic contemporary and cozy Indian space.
The regional specialties here are all served thali-style in silver ramekins, with no flatware.
The menu will hinge on a variety of South Indian staples like Dosa(Rice Crepes); Idli(Steamed Rice Cakes), Paratha(Kerala style layered flat bread) and Idiyappam(Rice based string hoppers). The staples will be served with a choice of accompaniments such as Sambhar(Vegetable and Lentil Stew), Kurma(Vegetables in coconut gravy) and Chicken Ghassi (Mangalorean style chicken curry).
The ingredients and spices for each dish are authentic and sourced in their home regions, and the southern Indian authenticity extends even to the art on the walls.
