Lapland, Finland
Santa Claus Village sits about 8 km north of central Rovaniemi on the Arctic Circle and is open year-round, usually 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in winter. Entry, meeting Santa and crossing the Arctic Circle are free, with paid extras such as the official photo. Queues around Christmas can run past an hour, so November, early December or January to March are quieter. Zurich, Switzerland
Zurich’s Christmas markets run from roughly 19 November to 24 December 2026, with provisional dates, including a large indoor market in the main station. A Singing Christmas Tree at Werdmühleplatz has more than 40 choirs on a tree-shaped stage. Warm up with hot chocolate and visit the city’s museums.
Reykjavik, Iceland
