The best restaurants in Hong Kong in 2026 are its seven three-star Michelin addresses, led by Umberto Bombana’s 8 1/2 Otto e Mezzo. The 2026 Michelin Guide Hong Kong and Macau, announced on 19 March 2026, listed nine three-star restaurants across both cities, with seven in Hong Kong. We rebuilt our 2015 list around that guide, added the restaurants that have since won stars and removed those that lost them.

1. 8 1/2 Otto e Mezzo Bombana
Umberto Bombana, often called the best Italian chef in Asia, runs this three-star Italian restaurant in Alexandra House. It is named after Fellini’s 1963 film. The restaurant has held three stars in every Michelin edition from 2021 to 2026. The wine cellar was described in our original piece as holding more than 3,000 bottles, and a sister restaurant in Macau at Galaxy Macau holds one star.
2. Caprice
The French restaurant at the Four Seasons Hotel has kept three stars through the 2021 to 2026 editions. Its list favours Burgundy and Bordeaux, and the cellar includes French artisanal cheeses. We did not verify the current head chef, so we have not named one.
3. Amber
Amber moved up from two stars to three in the 2025 guide and kept them in 2026. The modern French restaurant at the Mandarin Oriental in Central is long associated with chef Richard Ekkebus. Reports say Amber may pause service during 2026 as the hotel marks its anniversary, so check before you book.
4. Sushi Shikon
The Japanese restaurant in the same Mandarin Oriental building has held three stars in every edition since 2021.
5. T’ang Court
T’ang Court at The Langham was the Cantonese restaurant that gained three stars in 2016. It still has them in 2026.
6. Forum Restaurant
The Cantonese restaurant at Sino Plaza has kept its three stars in every edition since 2021.
7. Ta Vie
Ta Vie at The Pottinger is the newest of the Hong Kong three-star restaurants. Two stars in 2021 and 2022 became three in 2023. Michelin classes the cooking as innovative.
8. L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon
The restaurant held three stars for 13 consecutive years, then closed for renovation in January 2025 and reopened in Central in October 2025. The 2026 guide returns it to two stars. Opened in 2006, it remains one of the strongest French tables in the city.
9. Man Wah
Man Wah is the Cantonese restaurant on the 25th floor of the Mandarin Oriental, with views over Victoria Harbour and a room described as one of the prettiest in the city. One star has stayed on the door through every edition since 2021.
10. Summer Palace
Summer Palace is the Cantonese restaurant on the 5th floor of the Island Shangri-La. Our original list gave it two stars; every guide from 2021 to 2026 lists it at one star. Signature dishes include baked king prawn with truffle pesto.
What happened to the old list?
Ming Court at Langham Place lost its star and has no stars in the 2025 and 2026 guides. We could not confirm the current status of One Harbour Road, Gold or Liberty Private Works, and none of them appear in the 2026 star list, so we removed them. Cristal Room by Anne-Sophie Pic is the 2026 riser, promoted to two stars. Separately, one report counted at least 14 Cantonese restaurant closures in the first four months of 2026, with rents cited as a factor.
