6. Kirin (Sales Revenue: $18.1 billion)
Kirin Company Limited had been stalking Asahi Breweries in terms of race to become Japanese top beer company. And finally this year, it overtakes the rival in both market share and sales revenue.
With 2.3% of global market share and $18.1 billion of sales revenue, Kirin has become the leading beer company in Japan. They might want to change back its name to Japan Brewery now.
It is also one of the oldest beverage companies in the world since it was founded more than 130 years ago, in 1885. And its parent company, Kirin Holdings Company Limited, operates in various industries. Among them are real estate, food, health, restaurant, and logistic. But it is more commonly known for its beer brand, Kirin Ichiban. One 330-ml bottle of Kirin Ichiban beer is sold at around $2.2.
