11. Chang (Sales Revenue: $5 billion)
We move away from China, but just a little further southeast to Thailand. Thai Beverage (ThaiBev) generates $5 billion of sales revenue thanks to this beer brand, Chang. With 181.19 billion Baht (or around $5 billion) revenue, this is the largest beverage company in Thailand.
The word Chang actually means “elephant” in Thai. And it is resembled on the two-elephant logo on the beer bottle. A 620-ml bottle of Chang Beer is sold around $2.5.
In 2005, Chang was actually in a joint venture with Carlsberg. That is why the two beer brands have similar typography. Unfortunately the collaboration ended due to non-fulfillment of contractual obligations.
“The taste of Chang Beer’s unique golden brew is created through a time honored brewing process and a selection of the finest ingredients the world has to offer – from the deep-water wells of Thailand to the finest yeast and hops the rest of the world has to offer.” – changbeer.com
