Minnesota Timberwolves
The biggest fine ever gave, in the history of the NBA, came in the year 2000 when the Minnesota Timberwolves team made a huge mistake in that season.
The reason for the fine was that the Minnesota Timberwolves tried to make a deal with a player and overcoming the salary cap rules imposed by the league.
The salary cap is an agreement that was made so that the teams who are more financially cable don’t monopolize the talented player acquisition by offering them huge sums of money.
The fine occurred when it was revealed that the Timberwolves were engaging in discussions with Joe Smith and they were promising the player a future contract and more money.
When the act was discovered the team was fined the largest amount of money in the history of the NBA, 3,5 million dollars for the fact that they were trying to go over the salary cap.
What do you think about these big fines? Which one was the craziest reason for a fine?
