Remember that cool dude who slays bad vampires in Blade? Yup, that is the same man you are looking at the picture. Well, Mr. Cool ain’t so cool anymore today.
He filed for bankruptcy in 2006. It was followed up by him being arrested for tax fraud. He failed to pay over $15 million in taxes for his earnings in 1999-2001. He served three years in Pennsylvania prison for that.
As he was sentenced under home confinement, Wesley Snipes was then under the watchful eye of the New York Community Corrections Office as you can see on the website of the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
However, his lawyers argued that his tax advisers, Douglas P. Rosile and Eddie Ray Kahn, who were also jailed, had duped their client with a claim that there were no laws requiring him to pay tax. Um, wasn’t Google available that time?
