If it has so many flaws, then how did the manufacturer manage to generate such sales revenue anyway? If there are better ones, what makes people keep buying these cars instead?
One of the most common answers is antiquity. Enzo Ferrari himself is a legend in both motorsport and automotive world in general. Let alone the Ferrari’s success in Formula 1 with legendary drivers such as Niki Lauda, Gilles Villeneuve, Alain Prost, Michael Schumacher, Fernando Alonso, Kimi Raikkonen, and the list goes on.
The Ferrari 250 GTO, as seen on the picture, was sold for $52 million. There is nothing extravagant about the car. It is simply an antique collectible car which holds a priceless history for Ferrari enthusiasts.
Should we say that Ferrari wins in terms of marketing strategy? Well, it should come as no surprise because they have the best platform to promote: the Formula 1 Grand Prix.
