As he was arguing with the rest of his team, Steve got a text. It said, “She has gone. In her sleep”. He didn’t burst into tears right away. He excused himself to take a deep breath instead.
Peggy Carter was the love of his life. You learned this from the first Captain America movie. When he woke up from his long icy sleep, he thought everyone he knows is dead. But Peggy was still alive.
Her funeral was a very emotional moment to Steve. Besides losing her, he was also reunited with his crush, Kate, who happens to be Peggy’s niece. Plus, Black Widow showed up to give him a big hug. What a day for our Capt.
