7. His secret superpower
Speaking of Donald Trump, that is a name Carlos probably resents. It is not a secret anymore that Trump’s relationship with Mexico is not really a romance. As a Mexican, Carlos takes the hit especially with the fact that they are business rivals and shared the luxury neighborhood of Manhattan, New York.
Carlos is a stakeholder in many big companies, including New York Times paper. When one owns a newspaper company, you would think that he may have a say on what is published on the paper. Trump thinks so.
The Times were not so positive about Trump throughout his campaign, especially on his issue about Mexican border. And on this, Trump gave his comment. Trump said the paper is pretty biased in reporting him.
“We either have a border or we don’t. If we don’t have a border, we don’t have a country. These people are pouring through like Swiss cheese, drugs are pouring in. The Times never talks about the drugs, they never talk about the crime,” Trump said. He also added that a very rich Mexican (which refers to Carlos) owns a big chunk of the paper and has a lot of power over the paper.
