The residence is located in the fishermen’s village Mundaú in the state of Ceará, in a place were vegetation and human life coexist in a natural balance.
The Camarin Architects is a Portugal based architectural firm established in 2007 by Vasco Matias Correia and Patrícia Sous. Their ultimate goal : To create spatial solutions that make life easier and rewarding.
The Camarin Architects did an awesome job when creating the Casa Tropical aiming for a design system that delivers luxury, flexibility and timelessness.

The owner of the Casa Tropical wanted a holiday house with 3 bedrooms and with a sens of constant contact with the surrounding nature.
” We thought of systems in which earth, Sun and shadow, coconut trees and other trees, dunes and sea, would complement the design of the house, suggesting a condensed and sensual experience of close and faraway nature. ”
The energy and service strategy of this house is unprecedented in the region.
The energy for the house can be created from the use of the sun and wind’s intense conditions.
” Passive cooling is achieved by means of the gallery: it shelters the interior spaces from the tropical sun, leaving them permeable to the mountain breeze. The wooden skin that wraps the gallery filters glare, protects intimacy in the bedrooms and frames sights. ”
The house features three floors with three totally diverse landscapes. The podium from the street level overlooks the garden and two volumes with diverse functions create a permanent open space.
The rooms from the second floor can be accessed from the gallery. Privacy, relaxing exotic breeze and remarkable views are delivered all the time.
The living rooms is represented by a house on the trees. Yes, you heard it right! There is a wooden house on top of the concrete house, featuring a open roof 3,20 m glass panels with mesmerizing views.
