The castle is first documented on May 3, 1202, and the estate today belongs to the Bolza family. The estate covers about 3,700 acres, with a collection of more than 50 farmhouses, many of them restored.
How much does it cost to stay at Castello di Reschio?
The earlier version of this article quoted weekly rentals from 3,500 to 25,000 pounds. That is out of date. The estate’s own site now lists “from” rates per night.
- Hotel rooms start at 1,115 euros a night for a 30 square metre room. A Grand Room is from 1,524 euros, a Castello suite from 1,905 euros, and Grand Suites from 2,659 euros.
- The Tower Suite, at 180 square metres, starts at 5,062 euros a night.
- Seven villas are available to rent. The lowest “from” rate is Cercoschene at 5,087 euros a night (four bedrooms), and the highest is Bell’Aria at 7,821 euros a night (six bedrooms). Palmieri is from 7,757 euros, Tisciano from 7,617, Barco from 7,326, Arrighi from 6,709 and Spinaltermine from 5,477.
Rates are “from” prices, so seasons, minimum stays and extras will change the final bill. Ask the estate for a quote for your dates.
What is there to do?
The appeal is privacy, seclusion and nature without giving up comfort, technology and service. Guests can enjoy swimming pools, gyms and tennis, take cooking lessons, ride horses, and walk among wild flowers and olive groves. The food is fresh and locally produced.
Who runs Castello di Reschio?
The Bolza family: the estate describes its work as imagined, built and run by the family over more than 30 years, and Benedikt Bolza, an architect, has led the planning and design of the restoration.
Would you stay at least a weekend here? The only downside is leaving and getting back to reality.
