Tom Cruise started his career at age of nineteen in the film Endless Love from 1981. After having supporting roles in Taps (1981) and The Outsiders (1983), he had his first leading role in the romantic comedy Risky Business (1983).
His international fame came after his portrayal of Pete “Maverick” Mitchell in the action drama Top Gun (1986).
Ever since 1996, Cruise has been well-known for his role as secret agent Ethan Hunt in the Mission: Impossible film series.
