N5. Verizon Communications -$2.5 billion
Verizon is an American broadband and telecommunications company, which is also the largest U.S. wireless communication service provider as of 2014.
Previously founded as Bell Atlantic, the company was one of the seven Baby Bells that were formed after AT&T Corporation was forced to relinquish its control of the Bell System.
And so Bell Atlantic was born in 1984, and this telecommunication giant quickly formed its customer base. Today it has one of the biggest customer bases in the United States.
They will remain in the top because of their view to improve their customer base for which they spend $2.5 billion on marketing. This amount was a 2.4% increase as against the money they spent on marketing in the year 2012.
Big ads included a push for its Smart Rewards loyalty scheme and a fun spot “ice fishing gravity” spot for its XLTE service.
